Fulbright Students at Artistry in the Rock 05/03/2012
Artistry in the Rock was held last Sunday, April 29th at Clearchannel Metroplex. This district-wide art show celebrated the abundant artistic talents of our LRSD students. Four artworks by Fulbright artists were on display. Way to go Trevor, Levi, Tyson, and the 5th grade Art Club for making our school proud!!! Add Comment Arts Night Photos!!! 05/03/2012
There were famous artists, fantastic performances and there was beautiful artwork adorning the hallways- what a great night! Arts Night 04/25/2012
Last night was Fulbright Arts Night. It included the Art Show (which had pieces of art from all of our wonderful students), Meet the Artist presentations from the 3rd Grade ETC students, and musical performances. We had such a fun night- thank you to everyone who came out to support the arts at our school! We have the sweetest, most talented students at Fulbright, and the crowd loved seeing all of their artworks and watching their performances. I am currently sorting the photos from the event and plan to post them soon. Kindergarten Self-Portraits 03/22/2012
I LOVE these self-portraits- the kids did a wonderful job! Matisse Interiors 03/22/2012
The fifth grade classes have been studying the work of the French artist Henri Matisse. His works are filled with bright, happy colors, which the students really responded to. The students created paintings inspired by Henri Matisse and his paintings of interiors. Take a look! Textured Turtles 03/22/2012
The first grade students have been studying texture, or the way that something feels. In these turtles, the students used a variety of patterns to create different textures within each turtle's shell. After finishing their turtles, the students added grass to the scene using glittery paint (my favorite!!!) 3rd Grade Wild Things 03/22/2012
Happy Spring Break! I hope that all of you are having a fun and safe time! For the past several weeks the third graders have been creating artwork inspired by the classic children's book Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak. After reviewing the story, the students studied the way that Sendak used texture and proportion in the illustration in the book. The students created their own "wild things". After drawing with Sharpies, they added color to their drawings using watercolor paints. Chalk Cityscapes 03/03/2012
The second grade classes have been learning about space. They learned techniques, like overlapping, to make their artworks look more realistic. In this lesson, the students began by drawing their cityscapes with glue. This week they began adding chalk. These pieces are so colorful and fun! Jungle Scenes 03/03/2012
The Kindergarten classes studied the artwork of Henri Rousseau, who frequently painted jungle scenes. After learning about Rousseau, the students learned how to draw bears. After drawing their bears, they painted the background with watercolors and added leaves. Precious! Cross-Hatched Trees 03/03/2012
The third grade classes have been studying value, or how much light or dark is seen in a work of art. They have created trees that show value through either hatching or cross-hatching. |
